THE CLINICAL STUDY OF CORONARY HEART DISEASE TREATED BY QIGONG WITH MUSIC

By: Lu Lanting, Liu Yakun (Changchun Hospital of TCM, Chang Chun, China) and Zhuang Yanbo (Sanitorium for Staff of Jilin province, China)

For treatment of coronary heart disease, a set of qigong exercises with music was designed and  clinically applied with success in 1987. It works to regulate emotions and promote smooth circulation of blood, and prevent attack of the disease. Combined with music, qigong proves more effective than either  qigong therapy or music therapy used alone. 200 cases of coronary heart disease were studied from 1988-1989 and satisfactory results were achieved.

                 Clinical data:

The patients were divided into groups of clinical cure, marked effectiveness and failure.

               (1) Sex and age: male: 138, female: 64, age: 37-80; 40-70: 194 cases (97%)

               (2) Classification of groups. Kidney-heart pain, stomach-heart pain, spleen-heart pain, liver heart pain and lung-heart pain.

               (3) Observing method: The patients were randomly divided into the treating group and control group.

               Treating method:

Learning qigong exercises: The patients did qigong exercises, 15-30 minutes each time,  twice  a day.  30 days made a course and they did 1-3 courses.

               Result and analysis:

(Clinical cure: 19 cases; marked effectiveness: 64 cases; effectiveness; 109 cases; failure: 8 cases.
