Usually it found 50 to 3,200 meters above sea level,in forest, among bushes, on trees, on boulders or along creeks. Senecio jacobaea L. is found in Xinjiang province of China also in North America. 產西藏，陝西，湖北，四川，貴州，雲南，安徽 ，浙江，江西，福建，湖南，廣東，廣西，台灣等省區。常生於森林，灌叢中，攀援於灌木，岩石上或溪邊，海拔50--3 200米。

| Dosage: 用量﹕ | To take as decoction: 9 to 15 g. (fresh herb: 30 g) To use externally: boil with water and wash affected area or boil and make into paste and apply. 內服：煎湯，9 - 15 克(鮮者30克)。

The plants contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids. Most of these alkaloids are toxic to the liver of domesticated animals and also cause irreversible damages to the liver, kidneys and lungs of human beings.[1] The symptoms of poisoning include lack of energy, nausea, vomiting, flatulence, jaundice, lack of urine, ascites and can cause liver cancer, lung cancer and abnormal fetus[2]. 脾虛泄瀉者忌 服。 全草,含有千里光鹼等吡咯雙烷類生物鹼,大多數此類生物鹼對家畜 等動物具有肝毒性,能對人的肝，腎 ，肺等重要臟器產生不可逆的損害,並有潛在的致癌危險[1]。其中毒症狀表現為:疲乏無力，惡心嘔吐，腹脹， 黃疸，尿少，腹水等;還可導致肝癌，肺癌以及畸胎等[2]。 |
