Ji guan
huan was originally growing in Africa, south America and India. Now it
is grown throughout China and south east Asia Qing xiang hua is found in
whole China and Southeast Asia.

clears wind heat, liver fire qing xiang zi: decoction
used as drops stops nose bleeding; internal use
in heat, painful, swollen eyes, superficial visual
obstruction and cataracts caused by wind-heat
or liver fire.
ji quan hua zi: bleeding in hemorrhoids, diarrhea with red and
white muccus, bleeding in menopause, yeast infections with red
or white discharge and various types of bleeding.
Seeds (zi) and flowers have the same medicinal effects.
青葙子煎劑點鼻止鼻血. 內服用于熱性眼腫痛﹐風熱肝火盛的
白內障。
雞冠花﹕用于痣瘡出血﹐紅白痢﹐紅白帶﹐各種出血。
青葙子與雞冠花可通用。子與花可通用。皆用于﹕急 性 結 膜 炎 ， 虹 膜 炎 ， 葡 萄 膜 炎 ，高 血 壓 ， 鼻 衄 ， 皮 膚 風 熱 瘙 癢 ， 疥 癩 。 |

Killing effect of Trichomonas vaginalis: celosia
decoction possesses a good killing effect on human Trichomonas vaginalis.
Using 10% decoction of Trichomonas vaginalis with same amount culture
medium, in 30 minutes the parasites became round , activities
were decreased , and in 60 minutes most of the parasites disappeared.
With 20% decoction, the parasites disappearrf within 5-10 minutes. [1]
Using 10%
celosia injectiones on pregnant rats, pregnant guinea pigs, and
rabbits resulted mid-term induction abortion. [1]

殺滅陰道毛滴虫作用:
雞冠花煎劑對人陰道毛滴虫有良好殺滅作用，10%煎劑加等量陰道滴虫培養液，30分鐘時虫體變圓，活動力減弱，60分鐘時大部分虫體消失；20%煎劑可使虫體5-10分鐘內消失。【1】
雞冠花10%注射液對孕鼠、孕豚鼠、家兔等宮腔內給藥有中期引產作用。【1】 |

淋渫雞冠散:
治五痔肛邊腫痛，或竄乳，或竄穴，或作瘡，久而不愈，變成漏瘡：雞冠花、風眼草各一兩。上為粗末。每用粗末半兩，水碗半，煎三、五沸，熱洗患處。（《衛生寶鑒》） |

ji guan hua (celosiea critata L. ) and qing xiang (Celosia argentea L.) are of the same family but of different species. The flowers with the shape of the comb of male chicken are called ji guan hua, literally means chicken comb flower. The flowers with the shape of wheat sprays are called qing xiang. (zi means seed).
They can be used interchangeably. 雞 冠 花 與 青 葙 同 屬 異 種 的 植 物 。 其 花 如 雞 冠 者 是 雞 冠 花 。 其 花 如 麥 橞 者 是 青葙 。用 法 相 同 。 |
