 Pyrrosia lingua (Thunb.)Farwel (shi wei 石韋) :South of Yangtze River of China;

Pyrrosia sheareri Bak( shan shi wei  山石韋 ): jiang Xi, Hun nan, Gui Zhou, Si Chuan;

Pyrrosia petiolosa (xiao shi wei 小石韋): hei Long Jiang, Liao ning, He Bei, Shan Dong, Zhei Jiang, jiang Su, Jiang Xi, Si Chuan,  Hu Bei

Properties (characteristics)﹕

性味﹕

bitter, sweet,  slightly cold

苦﹐ 甜﹐ 微寒。 

Channels (meridians) entered:

歸經﹕

  bladder and lung

膀胱﹐肺。

Actions & Applications:歸經﹕濕熱 用于小便刺痛﹐淋病﹐咳嗽﹐卻痰。

clears damp-heat   and unblocks painful urinary dysfunction, gonorrhea, cough and for expelling phlegm

Chemical ingredients:

化學成份﹕

 

saponins, tanin, anthraquinones, beta-sitosterol, mangiferin, isomangiferin, trifolin, kaempferol, diploptent, fumaric acid, allomuleic acid, boletic acid, caffeic acid, 2-butenedioic acid, chlorogenic acid, fructose, glucose, resin and cane sugar.
Modern usage: 1. chronic bronchitis 2. asthma 3. acute inflammation of glomerulus of the kidneys 4. ureter stones 5. chyluria 6 anemia caused by benzene toxicity.
Cautions:

注意﹕

 Use cautions in absence of damp-heat  

 如無濕熱 小心應用

Side effects:Might create anxiety, feeling of hunger, enlarged volume of urine and dizziness. Symptoms subside after stopping using the herb.
