gui zhi tang  桂枝湯        按此看中文

Name of formula: gui zhi tang (Shang Han Lun)

Application: For cold with sweating. Pulse is slow, weak and small.

Prescription:

gui zhi 4 qian, bai shao 4 qian, gan cao 3 qian, sheng jiang 3 slices, da zao 5 pieces (cut open)

Boil with 3 bowls of water. Simmer till one bowl is left.

Drink while warm. Drink some warm rice porridge.

Cover the body with blanket and let the body sweat.

Note: cold without sweat should consider ma huang tang.

Note: 1 qian = 3.75 grams (old  measurement)

桂 枝 湯 (傷寒論)

主治﹕傷風有汗﹐脈緩弱。(傷風無汗者﹐用麻黃湯)

處方﹕

桂枝 四 錢 , 白芍 四 錢 , 甘草 三 錢 ,生薑 三 片 , 大棗 五 枚 切

加 水 三 碗  煎 成 一 碗 。  溫 服 ,蓋 被 , 取 汗 。

趁熱喝清粥﹐以助出汗。
